We also have many opportunities to volunteer with the New York Texas Exes!
Winter Wishes for Kids and Families
New York Cares' Winter Wishes for Kids and Families program helps fulfill the holiday wishes of more than 31,000 disadvantaged New Yorkers. Through this program, children, teens, and families write letters to New York Cares requesting a gift that will make the holidays brighter. You can take one or more of these letters and buy the gift(s) requested. The item you buy may be the only gift that person receives this holiday season. If you would like to participate with the New York Texas Exes and Winter wishes please e-mail jackie_rs88@hotmail.com to receive your letter. Gifts are due by Dec. 15th.
Volunteer with the New York Texas Exes
Interested in volunteering with the New York Texas Exes? We will be creating a NYTE volunteer group to participate in different community service projects with New York Cares. If you are interested in volunteering we will be putting together a 2009 calendar of events from which you can pick events you wish to attend. Some events have an orientation session prior to the event, others will require you to attend ONE orientation session before volunteering. Host Texas Undergrads Visiting for the New York Seminar
Tuesday, March 17th and Wednesday, March 18th
We are currently recruiting office hosts for the 2009 NYC Seminar - a three-day event that brings University of Texas undergraduate students to NYC for office visits and networking receptions over their spring break. If you work in PR, advertising, media management, magazine journalism, visual arts, arts administration, or investment banking and are interested in hosting an office visit this year, please contact Holly Barton. The NYC seminar office visits will be Tuesday, March 17th and Wednesday, March 18th.
